Resendes Engagement Photos

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Had a great time with Mike and Mel shooting some great engagement photos. The were in it for the gold on this session, we shot pretty late for a Sunday evening! They wanted to show everyone their new life in Nashville with some of the skyline in the background of the photos so we headed downtown and shot away.

New Video Section!

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

I’m starting a new section on my sidebar, to the right, with links to new video’s.  It’s a wonderful way to show the latest work I’ve got coming out of my camera, the slideshows color in the emotion that I strive to capture.  I’m not exactly sure how often a slideshow will be released, not everthing I shoot gets the privledge of making it into slideshow stardom.  Although I will post on new arrivals as soon as they get uploaded!  Thanks for stoping by.

New Hosting Company!

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Well my website is thankfully live again! I’m now hosting through www.wiredtree.com through a VPS (Virtual Private Server) which has brought me countless benefits already!

With being in a bit of a bind due to my former web hosting company droping the ball, I started a search for a hosting company that I could trust, when I stumbled onto these guys. I was pretty much surfing through countless people riding the fence with every company that I looked up. When I found a great forum by the name of www.webhostingtalk.com, I found that everyone had currently rated this company very high.

Sure enough, I called on a Sunday and the guy on the other end, Jake, was so point blank in answering my questions that I actually felt that this company could lead me in the right direction. We all know too well of the ‘car mechanic’ approach of, “they don’t know how to fix it, so I can tell them anything, they’ll never be the wiser”… none of that here.

Just to be clear, wiredtree.com does not provide Shared Hosting, only VPS and Dedicated Servers.

WEBSITE down, new server…

Monday, March 10th, 2008

Sorry if anyone is trying to view my galleries and slideshows over at koskaphotography.com and get a blank screen. I am currently changing web hosting companies so that I can properly host my blog and my wesbite info from the same domain. Give me a few days and things should be running smoother. I have some interesting concepts that I’m putting together… I’m excited!

In the mean while here are a few shoots I took on Sunday! I’ve got some better ones coming in a day or so…

Pictage User Group (PUG) - Nashville

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

Running late I was able to speed into downtown Thursday night to make it my first Pictage User Group meeting. It was hosted at Gregory Byerline’s studio which was a beautiful space to hang out in.We talked about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) geared to some of the problems faced by photographers in general. It was an amazing time and I learned some vital info for my soon to be released full website. Here’s a few more photos from the evening…

Photoshop Lens Blur Tutorial

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

I found out a great way to get that 1.2 aperture look off of my 1.8 50mm nifty fifty! It’s seems a bit more realistic looking than when you take an additional layer… blur it, then paint it in with a layer mask. This uses an alpha channel… click on the picture below to check it out!

New And Old Friends

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

Renee and I went out to our friends, Tennison and Danielle, house this evening. We were also joined by his sister and boyfriend, and also his brother and his wife. We’ve never really spent much time with either of them before, let me tell you it was a blast. We pretty much hung around and played Boggle until 3 in the morning. Before Boggle I snapped a few pics of this little cutie…
