So I’m here down in Tampa and loving Florida. Today, we traveled with my sister-in-law to the park with her friend to take a few snap shots of the family. Wow, what a fun little shoot… nothing big planned, spur-of-the-moment and they turned out beautiful. So much so that I’m posting more then I typically do, not that I’m partial at all to my nephews. ;)

One of my favorites is the 3rd shot of Noah recovering from a boo-boo in moms embrace. Second runner up goes to 3rd from the end with Bradley sitting alone trying to shove as much of his popsicle into his mouth as possible. Kids are crazy!, funny thing is seeing these photos brings me back to my childhood when I was doing just the same. Oh and 2nd to last… ha look at Noah eyeing that popsicle!!!

Emily & Steve

Last week Renee and I were able to spend some time with Steve, Emily, and the ’soon-to-see-the-world’ Jackson. Emily wanted to capture some shots of her and Steve in their nursery. Let me tell you an expert designed that nursery! Full on color scheme of light blue with a slight beach feel wrapped in to boot!

After we left the nursery we made our way outside to a field of wildflowers near Green Hills. The sun was setting faster than I desired so I grabbed my speedlites and snapped a few shots of them against the golden sunset.

Afterwards they treated us out to Pei Wei which was a treat beyond measure! We had such a great time talking, when we started to finish up, we looked around to find that no one else was left but us and the kitchen staff was closing up shop! Great people we hope to spend more time with soon.

Perseid Meteor Shower, 2009

So today I noticed that Google had a different pic up about Perseid Meteors and how today was the ‘best’ time to watch. 60 to 120 shooting stars an hour I saw reported on the web. Well what do you know it was clear out so Renee and I got in the car and went off to find the darkest spot in the boonies. We found a housing development that was far out from Nashville where we laid down on the comfortable warm pavement radiating heat from the now set sun. We watched the starry sky for about 30 mins and only saw 5 meteors. One was magnificently bright and long, felt like it was so close to the earth. I took a few pictures, although nothing with a trail in it. ;) Maybe next year…

We’ve known Amy and her photogenic family for some time now, and it’s always a pleasure to snap shots! We traveled down to their new home last week to talk some needed pictures of their growing girl Sydney. She’s such a bunch of smiles; it was great to be able to capture this moment for Sydney. I was preparing the photos for Amy and while looking at the first 2 shots below I thought, “How cool would this be if I had pictures like these of me romping around!” When Amy and Trent came to pick up the prints, seeing their joy made me realize once again why photography is so important and worth it!

Trip to the Nashville Zoo

Renee’s sisters visited along with Michelle’s 2 little ones. I took the day off on Friday and we all headed to the Nashville Zoo! Lions, tigers, bears… oh my. Well more line Elephants, Giraffes, and Wild Boars! Long day in the sun… :)

I was able to be a part of this was an amazingly beautiful wedding in Savannah. We had the ability to take our time with the couple shots, which really made for a excellent chance to capture a wide varity of shots that I believe they are going to cherish forever.

From start to finish I feel there are many shots within this wedding that I’m extremely proud of as a photographer. I am blessed to be able to offer my services to such a beautiful bride and groom, but also a great family. Thanks!

A Visit To Savannah

I can’t tell you how busy I’ve been fortunate to be. Renee and I were able to have an extra afternoon out on Tybee Island, GA last week! Here are a few shots to give you a wee little taste of our day out. The beach was beautiful! We had never been out there before so it was very interesting seeing a new place together for the first time. I took a few pictures of the beach line and stitched them together… it’s the first photo in the series. Click Here to see the large version. Thanks to Bobby Earle I was able to help shoot this wedding. I actually didn’t bring my gear with me! Renee and I were arrived as guests. After the bridesmaids walked out Bobby scurries down the isle with three cameras in hand and askes me if I wouldn’t mind shooting with him. I hope you enjoy these shots as much as I enjoyed shooting them!
